Will of William Varnden of Chertsey 1861 |
This is the last Will and Testament
of me William Varnden of Chertsey in Surry Brick Maker. I hereby
nominate and appoint my nephew William Waterer of Chertsey Labourer
and James Parham also of Chertsey Collector to be executors of my will
and Trustees for the purposes hereafter mentioned, I hereby give and
bequeath to the said James Parham the sum of five pounds for his
trouble in executing this my last Will I give and devise to my two sisters
Elizabeth Varnden and Sophia Varnden all my stock in trade book debts
household furniture goods chattels and personal estate whatsoever to
hold to them for ever equally they paying thereout all my just debts
and funeral and testamentary expenses I give and devise to my nephew
William Waterer the two Cottages lately built by him with the gardens
and all appurtenances thereunto belonging situate at Row Hill in the
Parish of Chertsey for his own use absolutely and I also give and devise
to my aforesaid sisters Elizabeth and Sophia all my other messuages lands
tenements and real estate whatsoever to hold to them during their natural
lives and to the survivor of them and to the heirs of such survivor upon trust to
sell the same either together or in lots and either by public sale or
private contract as as conveniently can be after the decease of the survivor
of them my said sisters to any person or persons for the best price or
prices that can be obtained for the same and to pay and divide the
money arising from such sale or sales after deducting the expenses
thereof in manner following that is to say upon trust to pay one moiety
thereof unto James, Albert and Mary the three children of my sister
Mary Douglas deceased equally and upon trust to pay the other moiety
thereof unto William, Ann, Elizabeth and Mary the four children of my
Sister Ann Waterer deceased equally to whom I give and bequeath the
same and for facilitating such sale or sales I direct that the receipt or
receipts of my said trustees and of the survivor of them and his heirs
shall be good and sufficient discharge to the purchaser or purchasers of
my said real estate or any part thereof and revoking all former Wills I
declare this only to be my will In testimony whereof I have at the foot
or end hereof set my hand and subscribed my name this twenty nith day of
May in the year One thousand eight hundred and fifty seven ___________

at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed

Proved at London 30th April 1861 by the oaths of William Waterer the
Nephew and James Parham the Executors to whom Admon was
granted
