In the name of God Amen The Twentie Sixth day of June in the Eighteenth yeare of the Rayne if o[u]r Souraigne lord Charles the second by the Grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of

the faith ec And in the yeare of o[u]r lord 1666 I James Pickford of Macclesfield in the County of Chester Gent beinge of pfect and disposeonge mind and memory yet mindinge the uncertaine condicon

of this psent life and beeing desirous to sett my house in order before I goe hence and bee no more seen doe make and Publish this my last will and Testemt in mannr and forme followinge And first of all I

comend my spirit into the hands of my Good God that gave it and my Body to bee Buryed in such decent mannr as my Executors hereafter named shall in their discrecons think fitt And as touchinge my

Estate I devise Give Bequeath and dispose of the same in mannr and forme followinge. And first of all whereas I the said James Pickford by and Indenture beareinge date the Twentieth day of June Anno dom

1666 and made betweene mee the said James Pickford upon the one pte and John Morewood of Norton in the County of Derby Esq James Stopford of the Citty of Dublin in Ireland Esq and Thomas

Jackson of Hurdfeild in the said County of Chester Gent upon the other pte have setled all that messuage and Tenemt with its Apptenns Situate Lyeinge and Beeinge within shuttlinglowe & wildbore Clough

or the one of them in the Forest of macclesfeild in the said County of Chester heretofore called or knowne by the name of the Blackside of the Whiteside and nowe devided in sevrall parts, and all and every the Closes

Clansures pcells of land meadowe and Pasture thereunto beelonging And certaine other messuages and Tenemts therein menconed situate lyeinge and beeinge within the said Forest of Macclesfeilde and

County of Chester In wch said Indenture I Reserve power to my selfe to change the Lands therein menconed wth what Sume or Sumes I the said James Pickford by my last will and Testamt in writinge

or by any  other my deed or deeds in writeinge sealed and Lawfully Executed in the psence of two or more sufficient witnesses shall nominate Limitt declare and appoynt, now whereas James Pickford late of

maclesfeild my  late father did bestowe and give one Hundred Pounds to bee laid forth upon some land of Inheritance for the Raiseinge and ascertaieninge of 5-8 yearely for the paymt of two dozen of Penny

Levies weekely to bee weekly given every Sunday to Twenty Foure of the poorest people within the Burrough of Macclesfeilde And whereas hee deposited Fifty pounds thereof into the hands of the Corporacon, Twenty

Five pounds into the hands of Mr Anthony Booth and the other Twenty five beeinge the remainder thereof into the hands of mee the said James Pickford, now I the said James Pickford doe hereby

declare and my will and mind is And I doe hereby will devise and Bequeath that the said John Morewood James Stopford and Thomas Jackson and the survivor and survivors of them their and his heires

shall stand and be seised of and in all and singular the messuages Tenemts lands Hereditamts and prmises in the above said Indenture menconed And shall peaceably and Quietly have hould Occupy possesse and enjoy

the same And receive pceive and take the Issues Rents pfitts and Commodities thereof for and dureinge such and soe longe tyme and untill that they the said John Morewood James Stopford and Thomas Jackson and

their heires and survivors and survivor of them their and his heires shall and may thereby and therewith or out of the same have fully and clearely Received and taken or shalbee otherwise satisfied by and on the behalfe

of such pson and psons to whom the immediate use Estate Remainder and Revercon of and in the said Hereditamts Pmises shall for the tyme beeinge appertaine and belonge the sume of six pence weekly to bee

paid to the Church wardens or ovrseers of the poore or such other pson or psons as the major or Officers for the yeare beeinge shall nominate and appoynt to bee paid for six Loves weekly to six of the said Poore

within the said Burrough for ever Provyded alwayes that in case John Pickford my sonne or his heires or Assignes doe settle a Rent charge of six and twenty shillings p Ann upon some good Estate of

Inheritance for the paymt of the said six and twenty shillings yearley then and from thenceforth the aforesaid messuages Tenemts Lands Hereditamts and prmises with their Apptencs shall bee freely and clearley released

exonrated and discharged of and from the paymt of the said six pence weekely and six and twenty shillings yearely Any thinge in these psents conteined to the contrary thereof inany wise notwithstanding And as

touchinge my psonall Estate (wch it hath pleased God to blesse me withall) I devise Give Bequeath and dispose of the same in mannr and forme followinge And first of all I doe devise give and Bequeath unto Grace

Pickford my loveinge and carefull wife a third part of all my moveable psonall Estate Goods Cattels and Chattels whatsoever (my debts and funerall Expenses beinge first paid and satisfied) And whereas I have made

pvision for my foure younger sonnes Joseph Pickford Johnathan Pickford Zedidiah Pickford and Josiah Pickford but have not pvided maintenance for their livelihood till they shalbee sevrally bound Aprentices or

Attaine to their sevrall and respective Ages of Twenty one yeares as my will and mind is and I doe hereby will devise and Bequeath than an Allowence after the rate of Tenne pounds apeece shalbee yearely

paid out of my said psonall Estate till they shall sevrally and respectively bee bound Aprentices or ataine to the age of Twenty one yeares wch shall first happen for their maintenance as aforesaid, and Allsoe my

will and mind is and I doe hereby will devise and bequeath that a like Allowance of tenne pounds apeece shalbee yearley paid out of my said psonall Estate to Ellin and Elizabeth Pickford daughters of

the said James Pickford for their maintenance till they shall receive their porcons respectively and the like Allowance of Tenne pounds shalbee  paid out of my said psonall Estate to Priscilla Pickford

daughter of the said James Pickford for her maintenance till she shall attaine to the age of Fifteene yeares if her porcon be then paid otherwise the same allowance to continue her porcon shall be satisfyed and

paid, And alsoe my will and mind is and I doe hereby will devise and Bequeath unto my said sonnes Joseph Pickford Jonathan Pickford Jedidiah Pickford and Josiah Pickford or the greater

Prentices to be paid to them when respectively when they shalbee bound Aprentices by and with the Consent of Grace Pickford their mother and the before menconed Thomas Jackson or John Pickford or the greater

number of them, And whereas I hould a pcell of land called the nescitt now devided into sevrall ptes and one yearely rent of Fiftly seaven shillings eight pence issueinge out of A messuage or Tenemt in the

possession of John Brough or his assignes from Thomas Legh of the Ridge Esq by vertue of a surrender accordinge to the Custome of the mannr and Forest of Macclesfeilde for three lives yet in beinge wch said

pcell of land and Rent I have passed to friends in trust by surrender at a Holmote held for the mannr and Forrest of Macclesfeild the Twenty second day of december in the Foutheenth yeare of his maties

Raigne that now is according to the Customs of the mannr and Forest of macclesfeild aforesaid To such use or uses as I shall declare and appoynt by my last will and Testamt or by any other deed in

writeinge to be sealed and Lawfully executed in the psence of two or more sufficient witnesses. now my will and mind is and I doe hereby will devise and bequeath all my tytle Terme and

Interest of in and unto the said Coppy hold Lands and Rents to my said daughter Priscilla Pickford and her assignes dureing my terme Provided if she shall shall happen to dye before she

atttaine to the Age of Twenty one yeares leaveing no Issue behind her lawfullly begotten Then my will and mind is and I doe hereby will devise and bequeath the aforesaid pcell of

land called the nescitt now devided into sevrall pts and the aforesaid Rent of Fifty seaven shillings eight pence unto the said John Pickford my sonne dureing my terme. And

whereas I purchassed from Edward Brundreth late of Macclesfeild in the County of Chester yeoman All that his moyetie or half pte of these two messuages and tenemts with

thapptennces whereof the one is comonly known by the name of the Bull head situate and beinge in macclesfeild aforesaid in a certaine streete there called Chestergate

at the Corner of the said streete and late in the sevrall or other houldings or occupacons of the said Edward Brundreth and Anne Orme or some of Lessees or Assignes and

now in the occupacon of mee or my Assignes I doe hereby will devise and Bequeath the last menconed moyetie of the said messuages and Tenemts to Johnathan Pickford one

of my younger sonnes and his heires and Assignes for evr Provyded that hee pay unto Josiah Pickford my youngest sonne the sume of Forty pounds whe hee the said

Josiah shall accomplish the age of one and Twenty yeares, And if it shall happen that the said Johnathan Pickford shall faile in a paymt the said Forty pounds to the said

Josiah Pickford as aforesaid then my further will is that my executor hereafter named shall hold and enjoy the said moyetie of the said messuages and Tenemts wth

thaprteincs untill such tyme as they shall have Raised the aforesaid sume of Forty pounds (ovr and above all charges and reprizes) to the use and behoofe of the said Josiah

Pickford as aforesaid And my further will and mind is and I doe give devise and bequeath all the rest of my goods Cattells and Chattells of what nature or Quallity

saeve? the sume bee (after my debts paid and my funerall expenses discharged and my Legacies and bequests herein formerly given and bequeathed be satisfyed

and paid and my wives third pte bee deducted as aforesaid) to my sonne John Pickford And I doe hereby nominate constitute appoynt and make the aforesaid

Thomas Jackson and John Pickford my sonne the Executors of this my last Will and Testamt In Testamny whereof and of the prmisses And that this my last will and Testamt of the son?

The condicon of this obligacon is such that whereas the abovenamed

dcor John Wainwright hath upon Informacon to him given That

Edward Bostocke now prisoner for debt in the Castle of Chester at

Suite of James Pickford late of Macclesfeilde aforesd gent decd

endevoureth to procure his release thence by reason of the sd will in

Coon forme and under Seale of his office to the

above bounden Thomas Jackson & John Pickford executors in the

sd will named, now if the sd executors shall faile to pve the

sd will in due forme of Lawe as because now dependinge in

? Consistory Cort betweene the sd Executors on the one pt and John

Wood yout on the other, then if the sd exors shall deliv up to

? sd dcor Wainwright the will beforesd will probate Execs

under seale of Office beforesd to be cancelled then this obligacon

to bee voyd or els to remaine in force
