Will of George Bowker Shoemaker of Hyde, Cheshire, 1820



This is the last Will and Testament of me George

Bowker of Hyde in the Parish of Stockport in the County

of Chester, Shoemaker. First I order all my just Debts

Funeral and Testamentary Expenses to be paid by my Execu-

tors herein after named, Secondly I give and bequeath

all my Household Goods and Furniture, Working Tools,

Cattle and Implements of Husbandry together with the

beneficial Interest, Time and Term of Years to come of

and in a certain Lease for House and Lands which I

now hold and occupy under George Hyde Clarke Esquire

(if any such there be at the Time of my Decease) and so

far as I lawfully may, to my Son Samuel Bowker

and my friend Thomas Ashton, both of Hyde afore-

said Upon Trust and to and for the purposes

herein before mentioned; and my Will and Mind is and

are that my Executors do and shall as soon as con-

veniently may be after my Decease absolutely sell

and dispose of all my said Household Furniture

Working Pools, Cattle and so forth, and out of the

Money thence arising pay and discharge all my

just Debts, Funeral and Testamentary Expenses as

aforesaid so far as the same will go, and the Rest

and Residue, if any thereof remain, my Will is that

it be equally divided and paid to my Sons and Daugh

ters Share and Share alike, and I give and bequeath

the same accordingly. And lastly I nominate

and appoint my said Son Samuel Bowker and my Friend

Thomas Ashton Executors of this my last Will and

Testament hereby revoking al former Wills by me made,

In Witness I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal

this twenty eighth Day of March in the Year

of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty

Signed sealed published declared and pronounced by the

said George Bowker the Testator as and for his last

Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his

presence and at his request, and in the presence of

each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses

to attest the Truth thereof (first having the Word Son

interlined near the bottom of the first Page)
