The Will of Elizabeth Varnden of Chertsey 1819

 

In the name of God Amen

 

I Elizabeth Varnden of the parish of Chertsey in the County of Surry

ibidoro do make this my last will and testament in manner and form as

following that is to say first I devise that all my just debts and financial expenses

may be fully paid and satisfied by my executors hereinafter named as soon

as conveniently may be after my decease and as to the rest of my Worldly

Estate and Effects after payment thereof I give and dispose of the same as

follows to wit all those my four Copyhold messuages or Tenements with all

and way the appoints thereunto belonging or appertaining held of the

Manor of Chertsey Beomond thereforth I have already surrendered to the

use of my last Will and Testament situate and being in Bitoms Lane near Wheelers

Green in the parish of Chertsey in the County of Surry and now in the

several occupations of James Collier Senior James Collier Junr. John Bonyman

and Richard Rudland I give devise and bequeath unto my son William

Varnden of Chertsey aforesaid yeoman and to his heirs and assigns for ever of

all those my other four Copyhold messuages or Tenements with all and every

the appuns thereunto belonging of appertaining held of the Manor of Chertsey

Beomond th which I have also already surrendered to the use of my last

Will and Testament situate and being at Steventon and near Goose Pool in the

said parish of Chertsey aforesaid and now in the several occupations of Thomas

Sanders Daniel Barnes Henry New and Robert Harris I give and dispose

of the same as follows to wit that in the occupation of Thomas Sanders

with the appints thereunto belonging I give devise and bequeath unto my

daughter Ann Waters wife of William Waters of the parish of Chertsey aforesaid

labourer and to her heirs and assigns for ever that in the occupation of Daniel

Barnes with the appints thereunto belonging I give devise and bequeath

unto my daughter Mary Douglas wife of James Douglas of the parish of

Chertsey aforesaid watch and clock maker and to her heirs and assigns for

ever that in the occupation of Harry New with the appints thereunto belonging

I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Varnden and to her

heirs and assigns for ever and that in the occupation of Robert Harris with

appints thereunto belonging I give devise and bequeath unto my

daughter Sophia Varnden and to her heirs and assigns for ever all the rest

residue and remainder of my estate and effects of what nature or kind soever

and wheresoever to be found I give and bequeath unto my said four daughters

or the survivors of them to be divided equal share and share

alike and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said son

William Varnden and my Son in Law James Douglas both of the parish

of Chertsey aforesaid joint executors of this my last will and testament is

raficating them to execute the same affording to the fine intent and meaning

hereof In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty

first day of April in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and eight

Elizabeth Varnden Signed Sealed published and declared by the above

Elizabeth Varnden the Testatrix as and for her last will and

Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto

at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other

have subscribed our names as witness thereto James Collyer Charles

Blakey Souch Wm Souch

Proved at London 1st April 1819 before the worshipful John Dacebury Dr

of Laws & Law by the oaths of William Varnden son & James Douglas the

Execs to whom admon was granted havg been first sworn duly to admiss
