Will of Esther Boyce of Winkfield Died 1730 |
In the Name of God Amen I Esther Boyce of
Winkfield in the County of Berks Widow, being weak in Body, but of Sound
Mind and Remembrance, praised be God for the Same, do make & ordain this to be
my last Will & Testament First I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty
God, hoping through the Lord Jesus Christ to receive free Pardon of all my Sins, and
my Body I comit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor
herein after named And as for such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow
upon me I dispose thereof as followeth. In the first place, considering that the real Estate
long since purchased by my husband & I, will be enjoyed by my Son & heir George Boyce
after my decease, desiring his Prosperity in the Enjoyment thereof, I omit giving anything
to him in this my said Will. And I do hereby give devise & bequeath unto my son John
Boyce & to his heirs & Assigns for ever All that my Close of Land called Winkfield Close
with the Appurtenances, lying and being in Winkfield aforesaid, abbutting upon Winkfield Lane
North-West & upon a Closed of Meadow or pasture Ground called Long Mead South-East & adjoining
to the Ground of Mr Edwards North-East & to the Land of the said John Boyce South-West,
& now in the tenure or Occupation of my said Son John Boyce; under this Condition never-
theless that he my said Son John his Heirs or Assigns shall pay or cause to be paid out of the
Money I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah the Wife of Benjamine Harding. And the
other fifteen pounds thereof I order to be paid unto Rebecca Bowyer of Warfield in the said
County of Berks Widow, or her assigns, being so much now die to her upon Bond from my
said daughter Sarah: But if She my said daughter Sarah or her husband shall or do hereafter
pay or cause to be paid the said fifteen Pounds to the said Rebecca Bowyer or her Assigns
shall have all the said Thirty five Pounds. Item I give and bequeath unto my said daughter
All my wearing Apparel. Item I give & bequeath all the Rest & Residue of my Goods Chattels
& Personal Estate whatsoever unto my Son William Boyce, whom I make & ordain full & Sole
executor of this my Last Will & Testament. And I do hereby revoke annul ad make utterly
void all former & other Wills by me heretofore made wither by word or writing. And I do
declare this only to be my Last Will & Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto
set my Hand and Seal this nine & twentieth day of April Anno Dni 1729

her presence attested by us subscribing our names of Esther Boyce
